Engine Air Flow Maps
Jan 19, 2008 - 4:22 PM - by JoeThaMan
Since I've found there is quite a bit of calculation that goes into finding out how much airflow an engine consumes at a certain pressure ratio I've thrown together some engine air flow maps from 2.0L to 8.0L in .5L increments and they are all attached to this post.

I have done all of them with a Volumetric Efficiency (VE) of 80%. Some engines will have a higher VE and some will have lower. Most 4 valve/cyl engines will be around 80% where some 2 valve/cyl engines will be around 70%.

You can use the attached files for a rough estimate for air flow ratings and use them against the compressor maps that you are considering.

If you would like a custom air flow map, you can PM or email me at admin@turbo-owners.com with your request. You can give me the exact CC, Liters, or CID and a different VE if you would like with your email address and I can have a new one to you anywhere from a day to 3 days... [Read More]
