Freeway speed

On the way ot work today I was just cruising on the I205 bridge when a kid, who couldn't have been more than 16, goes blazin by me doing at least 95 (speedon the bridge is 55). The only reason I know what he looked like is because he ran in to trafic and so I cought up with him. Now I had my moments when I was younger of going way faster than I should, but it just seemed dumb to me now.

When I was that age, there weren't as many cars on the road. I learned high speed driving on the freeway, and county backroads, as it was just about the only "fun" we had in the area. Now, I have to drive 2 hours to get away, to places I can play --- No more running hard in traffic for the "old man", LOL

I can't even begin to list the stupid stuff I did when I was younger. Then I mellowed. Now that I am extremely old I am doing stupid stuff again. Its the circle of life!

I'm a pretty safe driver 99% of the time. I rarely go over speed limits, never talk on my cell phone, use blinkers, etc. (which is why I have a perfect driving record. ) I do have my [rare] moments of street racing, but its always very late at night on the freeway when there is no one around. And I don't initiate things. But when a ricer Honda or Acura flies up next to me and downshifts to show me how 'cool' their car is...I sometimes have to put them in their place. lol. Other than that, I take it all to the track.

My bf, on the other hand....its a wonder how he is still alive. Topping out his speedo isn't beyond him.

Yah, I guess you could say I drive like an old man. I usually will only drive 5mph over the speed limit. It takes a certain maturity to drive something that makes lots of power. I always pick my races when I do race. I don't feel it's worth getting a ticket or having my car impounded trying to show up for some guy in a civic with a loud muffler.

I don't race most of them. If its midnight on the freeway and no one is around and I'm familiar with the police traffic through the area, then fine, I'll race. But I'm not going to do it in a high-risk setting where I could endanger other people or risk myself more than necessary. Sometimes its just fun to f*ck with Acuras though (and other cars who pull up next to me, even if I don't always win.) hahaha.
