My Pride and Joy

Here's my Ride. She's hibernating for the winter so I'm lookin' forward to springtime to drive her again.

Hey joe how reliable has the 89 supra been at those power levels. Your car is right around where i would like mine someday.

It's been pretty reliable. On my old turbo setup (400rwhp) it was my daily driver for about a year, put about 10k on the motor and never had any problems. I have a daily driver now and drive the Supra usually on weekends during the spring/summer, and at 500rwhp I haven't had any problems. I do a compression test about every 1000 miles just to track how the motor's doing and it's always 180psi for the last 10k miles at that level. I do monitor knock and have an onboard wideband that i keep an eye on but besides that only issues I've had are just power steering pump is on it's way out and starter.. Diff makes a little noise, but the chassis has 250k on it so it's kind of expected.. I have a writeup at Joe Schesso's 1989 Tyota Supra if you want to check it out.

Nice Car! Better Power!!

What a car Joe! I would like to get my 88 to about 400rwhp but army pay is not very good! Nice car though, wow! With that power I bet it would be fun as hell to control on the throttle! My 88 has HKS 2mm head gasket and ARP studed the block for prep on more boost. What are you running for a turbo? Sorry about the long post but your car is kick ass!

Army pay might suck, but it evens out considering the army pays for everything. I gave up one year of my life, and got me my MKIV. Im sure you will be getting the chance soon seems like its going to be year on year off from now on.

I'm running a PT67. You can see the mods at Joe Schesso's 1989 Tyota Supra
