intercooler problem

ok guys just got my intercooler 22x10x3 was gona let some shop due it but they told me if i do it i will have major boost lag can some tell me if its true or not i have a big16g turbo and some work to the block stock head its going on a 92 vr4 galant let me know what yall think

yea that intercooler is way to big fer ya turbo. something bout effiecentcy at the boost level that you are probably pushing and you loose boost pressure going threw a intercooler that big. correct me as a lot of shit to remember and i may say shit backwords.

What is your goal? Thats the question.. How much PSI are you going to run? What fuel mods do you have? by big 16g turbo do you mean Ebay 16g turbo?

lol no its not a ebay turbo its a buschur big 16g i have rc550injectors,255fuel pump and im only thinking about maybe 15psi i just need something that will have my car runing good wit a nice tune. is that the kinda info can help me out? this is my 1st turbo car so i dont know to much about turbo

All right cool now that i know more about you set up i can help you out more.
To answer your original question yes you will have some boost lag. With the set up you have the bigger turbo and with the big FMIC you will expereince more boost lag then stock.. however with the set up you have the FMIC will work great. the added lag will be more then made up in higher RPM's. What are you using to tune the injectors BTW? Also with the set up you have you should be able to run boost into the 20's no problem. Do you have a data logger? Do you have a Wideband? What is your Goal? If you want to run low boost then that FMIC is to big.. if you plan on taking it above 15 psi then it will work out good. What kind of Racing are you going to do? you mentioned a track opening soon. Sorry my thought are scatterd Been a crazy morning!

I think the SAFC will be just fine for what you are doing. But you are going to need a data logger and a Wideband would be way nice for tuning it. I can hook you up if you don't have them. Other then that I would go a head and throw the FMIC kit on and Turn your boost up (what kind of boost controller do you have?) to what you want it set at and then start tunning!! And like i said you can run in the 20's if you want to take it that high! Are you doing the tune yourself?

No im gona let a shop do it but im not to sure on what shop yet. I wish I knew how to do it my self I would like to learn kinda been reading up on it a lil
